Camille’s Place community garden plays a vital role in building sustainable local food systems, providing access to fresh, healthy and nutritious food, and creating resilient community spaces. The community garden provides a wonderful opportunity for residents to meet one another, share information, and work together. It promotes outdoor activity and intergenerational and cross-cultural connections.
The garden includes vegetables such as swiss chard, tomatoes, cucumbers, zucchini, to culturally diverse vegetables such as callaloo, scotch bonnet peppers and okra. Residents participate in growing, maintaining and harvesting the garden.
