Camille’s Place provides programming for seniors in the building and surrounding community. Our goal is to enhance the well being and quality of life for older adults by promoting:
Independence and Well-being:
Programs offer access to information on a range of topics, including financial assistance, and healthcare, empowering seniors to make informed decisions about their lives. By addressing social, physical, and intellectual needs, our programs contribute to a more positive and fulfilling experience of aging.
Socialization and Community Engagement:
Activities provide opportunities for social interaction that will reduce feelings of loneliness and isolation, and help seniors form new friendships. This fosters a sense of purpose and belonging.
Physical Health and Wellness:
Activities include exercise classes, opportunities for outdoor recreation that help seniors maintain mobility, strength, and overall physical health. The exercise programs are specifically designed for seniors to improve balance and coordination, and reduce the risk of falls.
Intellectual Stimulation and Lifelong Learning:
Programs offer opportunities for learning new skills, discovering new hobbies, talents, and interests.
OUR PROGRAMS INCLUDE:
Ping4Alzheimer: This program uses table tennis to mitigate the impacts of Alzheimer’s and related dementias on seniors. Sessions include stretching and balance exercises in addition to playing table tennis with the seniors
Free Tax Clinics: Each year a tax clinic is held onsite for low-income individuals and families to have their tax returns prepared for free.
Weekly Activity Programs: Each week seniors meet to socialize and participate in activities that include board games, movies, interactive games, book club, etc.
Food programs: Seniors can register to receive weekly food boxes donated by Knights Table, Acorn2Oak and various local retailers.
